In the midst of this very busy fall season I wanted to take the time to share a special blog post with you.

For those of you that do not know, late last year I became involved with an amazing ministry here in Tulsa, Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, to provide my services free of charge to newborns placed for adoption.  What a blessing this organization is!  Being able to give my time and create memories for Abigail’s family, along with every other CPO family makes my heart so full.  I am so very blessed to be able to be a tiny part of their story.  Adoption is such a beautiful thing.

You can tell by these photos that Abigail is so very, very loved.

On June 6, 2012, my hairdresser’s daughter, sweet Rosalie nearly drowned in a neighborhood pool.  She is currently in the hospital fighting for her life.  There is a prayer page created on Facebook; if you could all join me in prayer for this sweet baby girl, that would be awesome.

I am putting two of my handmade twig baskets up for auction.  Simply comment below with your bid (I will have to approve comments so if yours does not show up right away, please be patient).  The starting bid will be $40 on each basket.  I will take the two highest bidders and average them (USA and Canada bidders only, please).  Bidding will close at 7 PM, CST.

All proceeds from the baskets will go to Rosalie’s family to ease the financial burden.  Rosalie has put up the fight of her life before when born very early so we know she is a fighter and with her firecracker personality she is going to pull through.  If you would like to donate to Rosalie’s Recovery, please click on the donate button below.  Every dollar will help.

For those of you that do not know, late last year I became involved with an amazing ministry here in Tulsa, Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, to provide my services free of charge to newborns placed for adoption.  What a blessing this organization is!  I photographed my 3rd adoption blessing on Tuesday and it was so very special.  I was greeted at the elevator by Bella’s adoptive mother and birth mother.  How incredible it was to witness the bond between these two extraordinary women.  They both sat quietly behind me as I posed sweet Bella, marveling at the sight of their daughter.  As the session was coming to an end I asked if they would be up for some photos with Bella and they both happily agreed.  I started with Bella’s adoptive mother and Bella alone and then moved Bella in the arms of her birth mother.  I then asked Lacey to come in and wrap her arms around them and it was the most beautiful thing to be a part of.

I then posted that image to Facebook and I am completely blown away by the response.  My heart is so full reading all of the comments.  I can tell that this image has affected so many people in a positive way and that is what photography is all about and I’m so blessed to be able to capture these moments for my clients.

Meet sweet Benjamin, the son of dear friends of mine.  He entered this world on February 14, the perfect Valentine’s Day for his family.  I received an email from Ben’s mommy the Friday before his birth saying that they were being blessed with another adoption miracle.  Our God is so good.  I could not be happier for Mitch, Krysta, Kaden and little Ben.  Welcome to the world, little man and congratulations to your family that loves you to the moon and back.

You see, if it wasn’t for Krysta, I wouldn’t be blessed to work with such an amazing adoption organization here in town (read more about it here).  What an honor.

Meet Benjamin Patrick and his parents:

Mom and Dad have been married for 9 years and they were looking forward to starting a family. After several years of infertility drugs and treatments without a successful pregnancy, they decided to pursue adoption. They found an adoption agency, Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, where they immediately felt right at home. Mom and Dad created a lifebook for birthmoms to view and after their book had only been available to profile for a short 2 weeks, they were chosen to parent a baby boy that was 4 weeks old. On July 7, 2009, they met their son, Kaden and brought him home where he has grown into an active and adorable boy.

In the Summer of 2011, they decided that they were ready for number two and created another lifebook of their family. They waited about 7 months the second time around and met a birthmother that was due in just a few days. They met her one day, saw their baby on ultrasound the next day where they found out it was a boy and the next day, on February 14th, their second son, Benjamin was born. Ben’s birthmom was incredible and invited Mom to be a part of the delivery. She witnessed Benjamin being born and even cut the cord. It was the most amazing and emotional experience. They love both of their birth mothers for their bravery and selflessness. Without them, Mitch and Krysta wouldn’t be parents. They love adoption and are so happy to be a family of 4!

I have been working with a very special organization here in town over the past couple of months to bring a goal to life that I’ve had for a very long time.  It all started with me wanting to give back, give back in some way to our community.  Then it hit me.

I woke up one morning 2 1/2 years ago to an email whose subject read : It’s a boy!  My very dear friend and her husband had been blessed with a beautiful newborn baby boy through adoption.  I will never forget that morning and the tears of joy for them.  So I contacted her and tossed around the idea of donating my time to families who have adopted through the organization that she was a part of.  And the rest is history.  It makes my heart so happy that these families that have been blessed with the most beautiful gift will not have to worry about the financial burden of having newborn photos taken, something so special that they will have forever.

Meet Levi and his parents:

Mom and Dad met at Oklahoma State University where they both attended and graduated college.  They have been married for 6 1/2 years and after 3 1/2 years of marriage they began their journey to parenthood.  After spending lots of time with doctors, they learned that they were not able to have a biological child.  God led them to adoption.  After searching and researching, they found Crisis Pregnancy Outreach through a friend, such an amazing organization.  On December 1, 2011, they were blessed with precious Levi; they are forever grateful that Levi’s birth mom chose them to parent Levi and love her so much.  He is their first child and the first grandchild on both sides and they look forward to all good times and memories ahead.  The love they have for Levi is indescribable.
